I have been living in Boulder for almost 20 years and love this place. I now have a family of three and we usually come about every other Friday. We have our favorites on the menu and our six year old has learned to eat and love sushi here. The remodel is great, and the proprietors are fantastic - we've watched their children grow up over the years. Enjoy!

This place has always been amazing, but they recently updated their menu with awesome new specials. And unlike most places on the Hill, they haven’t jacked their prices up. They do great takeout, of course, but if you haven’t dined in for a while I recommend it; they updated interior and managed to do away with a lot of the riff raff (ie, obnoxious college students screaming about sake).

Do not come here for sake bombs, even though they are on the menu the staff is very rude about it. Every single person in my party’s beer exploded upon opening, meaning they had to have been shaken or poorly handled. The sushi here is also really bad, easily the worst I’ve had in Boulder. We were very respectful, and yet we were continuously ignored by staff when we requested water, and napkins for the exploded beer.

Tiny portions and way overpriced for what it is.
Today I ordered:
- Monkey Brain
- Miso Soup
- Pittsburgh Roll
- 2 x Salmon Avocado Rolls
The rolls were atrociously small. I eat Sushi all over the country and these rolls were by far the smallest I have seen so far. Which is why 3 rolls fit into one box. The amount of soup I got is also smaller than any other place I have tried in Boulder. The end result was $45.65 for something that doesn't even get my wife satisfied (no pun intended). Take a look at the picture and tell me its worth more than $12 total. Because another issue is that the Sushi really isn't very good. Even ignoring the tiny portions. The Monkey Brain was just textureless and without the sweet sauce would have been not all that edible.
I had ordered this through Hungrybuffs, the total including delivery and tip for the driver was $56.05.

WOW!! This place is fantastic. I have had a great experience every time I have gone regardless of how busy it is. The only time I was ever disappointed here was when I tried to go and it was closed. Definitely try the pork gyoza.
