My old review is below. I came here several times before (not in a long while now though), including the soft opening, and it was a GREAT restaurant. Had a hip/modern vibe, dramatic lighting, ambiance, amazing service and excellent staff. I came with some friends who are visiting from out of town and was frankly shocked at what this has turned into. I'll preface this with saying that the food is still good - I wouldn't say great, but the tacos were delicious, the salsas were good, not great, but definitely good, chips were run of the mill... nothing special. That was the highlight. The place now has broken cable runs on the wall behind the seating on the wall, a broken window on one side, everything overall had a film and just dirtiness on it, especially the back mirror at the bar and, well, the whole bathroom. The music was so loud that without the chatter of the other tables you still had to shout across the table only to barely be able to hear the person sitting across form you - its one thing having ambiance, even loud music, but this was ridiculous. The tables all have chips, are off kilter and just not cared for, the staff? Oh gosh... only the bar tender was wearing a mask. I didn't look in the kitchen so I can't account for them, but the hostess or waitress, not sure what her job was, didn't have a mask around at all, was not attentive, had to flag her down to get a food order in and at that didn't get the order right. The place has turned into a college bar, not a taqueria any more. I wouldn't even call what we had "service". I hope it comes back to what it started out as, but for now stay, unless you're looking for a college bar Old review from 6 years ago: Great food, great staff, great drinks! Love the food here, prices are awesome, Chef Will & Chef Joe have come up with an AWESOME menu ... don't wait, just get up there! All I have to say is "Bacon Jam" ... thats right, they have bacon jam on the menu - like everything else I've tried there simply AHHH-MAZING!
Brendan is the boy he is one of the best bartenders I've ever seen!
Worst bar ever. The bartender had no idea what he was doing, drinks awful, drunk bartender most likely.. If you want a good business fix it.
The bouncer pushed my friend multiple times and called us insults before we even showed our IDs, all unprovoked. I’ve had a similar experience before with the bad service before. Bad food, bad service, strangely salty margaritas. Don’t get lured in by the good location.
You approach the front gate and are stopped by a large man. The bartender takes your ID and clears you for entry. You walk up to the bar only to find that the bouncer is bartending and Bart Simpson is twirling a rag around in the air. Several geese walked in shortly after me and got rowdy as hell watching the nuggets get bent by Alex Caruso. I asked for a menu and could not believe it. There was only one item on the menu, “a great time”. And that’s all they serve. Would recommend this spot to everyone except kids that skate board. Damn kids and their skateboards.
